In Western Christian theology, grace is “the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, while not necessarily because of anything we have done to earn it – but we’ll know through the acts of those who live by it.
Symbolic Grace – is our ability to incorporate standards of discipline within the human population. These are characteristics visible by our neighbors. For example, coughing into our arm is a type of discipline that can keep others safe. Other types of disciplines include: meal tableware setting, meal table manners, eating salad with a designated salad fork, eating soup with a designated soup spoon, opening the door for significant other, leaving your napkin on the chair when excusing ourselves to go the the restroom, excusing ourselves when bumping into others, social manners, and so on… PRESENTATION! PRESENTATION! PRESENTATION! What / How will you present… The possibilities of presentation are endless in each category and within our imagination. Music is another form of discipline – enjoy!
Spiritual Grace – Divine grace has been defined as the divine influence which operates in humans to regenerate and sanctify, to inspire virtuous impulses, and to impart strength to endure trial and resist temptation; and as an individual virtue or excellence of divine origin – wikipedia-.
Having learned God’s teaching and demonstrating, through our actions, God’s humble nature to speak with humility, love, kindness, patience, dignity living by God’s truth. When drinking, we’re not getting drunk. Learning and owning the skills necessary to become a great leader: First and foremost of ourselves, Then leading our families, and so on…
Up to a point we were lost. Having accepted Jesus as Lord and having built a relationship with God we learn God’s grace that shines through us in wisdom and in works.
